Soothe your nerves with this Calm Cascade
Found this little creek a could weeks ago somewhere between Farmington and Victor, New York. In this crazy world of 24-hour connectedness and deadlines deadlines deadlines, a moment of quiet reflection can only help your soul.
Only 1 for now. More coming...

Red-Headed Woodpecker
This little guy just loved this dead tree that was on our campsite in Michigan. I've never been fortunate enough to get a woodpecker before, and he came back on the second day for more bugs, and I just shot and shot and shot. Next time I'm using the 3200, as I know the details aren't quite what I'd like them to be.
Shut up! I'm tryin' ta eat over here! |

Montezuma July 2015
We went back to our favorite place, Montezuma Wildlife Refuge. I got a few good bird pix a whole ton of lousy ones. When returning from an out of town trip, I noticed the Snowy Egrets were in town, and I really wanted to get a few of those before they migrated away again.
The results (I may be able to process a few more to respectability.)
This one's the one I'm currently using myself (I don't go in for that fancy-schmancy Windows 8 slideshow wallpaper... too much system resources wasted.) I just love the way the one is taking off while the other ones just stand there. In the manner of pigeons in the park or sparrows in a tree, these guys also have "personal space" issues, and when one is too close to another, usually the apparently offended party will flit away to someplace only a couple yards away. But it sure makes for impressive-looking take-off shots.
